ABOUT 1K+PR
1K+PR is a local precision rifle league consisting of monthly matches. At 1K+, we host two formats of precision rifle matches, a monthly "PRS" style match and a "TYL" gong match. Every 1K+ PRS match will have a course of fire that includes a mixture of prone and positional rifle shooting at known distance targets ranging to 1000 yards. Each PRS match is for points in the Precision Rifle Series Regional Series, including one Midwest Regional Qualifier match held every year in July.
Our local 1K+PR League follows the PRS rulebook but is made up of 3 rifle divisions; Open, Practical, and 223/308. The Open Division has no restrictions placed on a competitor’s rifle configuration. The Practical Division rifles must be under 16lbs and can not use a muzzle brake. The 223/308 division consists of rifles only chambered in 223 or 308. In all divisions, rifles must not exceed .30 caliber and 3200 feet per second.
The League begins in January and finishes with a season finale in November.
Our TYL Gong match consists of 18 targets ranging out to 1000yards over 3 stages. Each stage consists of 6 targets at 2 yardages. Shooters have 5 mins to engage each target from a position of choice. Scoring for this match prioritizes first round impacts. The goal of the Gong Matches is to provide a lower stress match format for shooters to learn how to navigate data collection, practice fundamentals and hopefully be an opportunity for those that can't participate in "PRS" style matches to be able to come out and shoot with us. Rifles must not exceed .30 caliber and 3200 feet per second.
